Over The Top

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Book Sneeze for the opportunity to attend a Women of Faith event!  I recently won two tickets to attend a Women of Faith conference, and I couldn't be more excited!!!!   I decided to take my mom with...neither one of us have ever been to a Women of Faith conference.  It will be tough to leave my kids for a couple nights, but I pray that through this experience God will take our breath away as we experience how He is so OVER THE TOP!!

Thank you again Women of Faith and Book Sneeze for this amazing opportunity!

Finally!!!

Wow....it's been a long time since I posted anything!!!! I can't imagine my life getting any busier!  I have recently started college(again), I'm working part time, and my kids are growing faster than I can imagine!!  I have added a nephew to my family(Emery Joel) and will be adding 2 more nephews next week and in September!  After all of this I finally found time to read a book, even if it did take me A LOT longer than it usually would.
I just finished reading "Save The Date" by Jenny B. Jones.  If you are looking for an uplifting Christian book about a young woman and the lengths she'll go to help others, then this is the book for you!  Save the Date tells the story of a young woman, Lucy, who needs to save her non-profit foundation, and goes to unbelievable lengths to do so.  Although it was a little slow to start, I loved that the book contained realistic relationships and situations and not the "typical" romance novel female.  This was a great inspirational novel.  I would rate this book a 4 out of 5(because it was a little slow to start).  I would highly recommend this book!

The Power-Based Life by Mike Flynt

I have just finished reading "The Power-Based Life" by Mike Flynt.  This book is a self-help book for those who don't like self-help books.  Mike Flynt is the creator of Powerbase Fitness who will take you through a process of finding your own powerbases.  He is striving to help everyone figure out what God designed them do to and then impact the world.

I enjoyed this book because it wasn't a guide telling me, "this is what you're doing wrong" or "you need to do this to fix yourself".  It was full of real life examples that vary enough to keep anyone compelled to read further.  In the book, Mike encourages making your life more content by setting goals for yourself and being disciplined enough to follow through. The thing I enjoyed most about this book was the biblical backing of everything Mike states. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who wants to find meaning in their work and impact the world.

Well here I go....

Here I go...my first post on my first blog! I hope to be able to keep family and friends updated on what is going on in the kids' lives and what I'm reading.

First things first, the kids!  Claire had her first ever Christmas program for preschool!!! She was so excited that she was singing the songs the entire week!  She and all the other kids did great. I'm so proud of the little girl she has become.  Chloe is coming into her "twoness"!! Everything is "NO" or "go to bed".  She has also developed the lovely habit of screaming at the top of her lungs when she doesn't get her way.  Cole....poor little Cole....is working on 5 teeth.  The poor little guy is being tortured by them too.  The pop through and then go back into his gums and then pop back out.  I feel so bad for him.  Cole's personality has developed too.  He does NOT like to share with his sisters and wants food on demand!! We enjoyed going outside today.  It was 55 degrees in the middle of December!!  We live in Iowa....what can I say?!?

I am currently reading/participating in "The Love Dare". It is a great book for helping relationships, new and old!!! I recommend it to EVERYONE!

That's it for today! Hope you enjoyed the first installment and the many more to come!!
I'll post some pictures of Chloe's birthday to hold you over until the next post!

Cole was having a great time with all the cake and wrapping paper!!

The girls LOVED the tutus.  I decided to get "crafty" and made the green, purple, and pink one!

 My beautiful  2 year old!
